Here is a shot of the desk.  It is really made of a bunch of slats nailed together and tossed on top of some shipping crates (a common way to make a quick desk in the field).  The brass tube on the left is a map case.  The lantern on the right lights up and the bulb is actually inside the shipping crates beneath it.  The little cherry wood case in the center is a pencil box.  The desk sits on an 8' X 8' floor that can be easily moved in a truck from camp to camp.  The chair is oak and the one "luxury" afforded to the foreman...  ;- )  I still plan to make up some maps for the desk and am working on a surveyor's transom.  The little green dot on the crate marked "B" is a beetle.
