Insurance for Your Miniatures Collection

There are many renters and homeowners policies out there that will cover your miniatures collection, however, depending on your insurance company, you may need additional coverage to ensure your collection is suitably protected.  It is always a good idea to document your entire miniatures collection with a list of items; including photos or even a video tape.  Receipts for high valued items are also a good idea.  Check with your insurance company for their specific requirements for covering your collection.  Some companies may require an appraisal if any items in your collection have appreciated in value since their purchase.  A miniatures museum is a great starting point in acquiring an appraisal of your collection!
